Money 2005 patch download available again

The Money 2005 Service Outage as reported earlier in the week is now fixed.

I received an email around 11pm BST (22:00 GMT) last night informing me. I've also heard from a couple of people confirming this is the case.

If you've been stuck at version 730, you should now try and restart Money and let the download occur. Once done, you may wish to consider making a CD as detailed in FAQ Article 630, BUT make sure you test it if you do!!!.

Thanks for all the comments and questions during the outage. It made the page reporting the problem one of my busiest ever.

I've read that you must activate new installs of MS Money 2005 UK before 2011. Does this mean that I will not be able to reinstall on new or rebuilt PC's after this date?

Is there a work around?

Also, I've been trying out Quicken 2008 (US version). Unfortunately the separate download converter will not install so I cannot import historic investment data. Quicken 2008 does not provide for investment a/c QIF imports.

Cheers

Hi Steve

for Money 2005, there is no activation, so don't worry about that. You can continue to use it and reinstall it after that date. The Jan 2011 date is for activation of Money Plus.

Thanks Glyn (and for previous help way back when I moved from Quicken to Money),

I also read that MSM Money will continue to provide some PARTNER data feeds - does that mean I might be able to get some stock prices too?

MSN Money should continue to have the feeds, but the download of them into versions of Microsoft Money looks like it will stop around the end of January. Of course, what they may do is leave them on and not maintain them (ie, when the break, they are gone), but I am planning on them being switched off for all users.
