Nationwide withdrawing support for Microsoft Money

The last full UK release of Microsoft Money was in 2005. Since then, Microsoft have carried out no development work on the software. In addition, Microsoft no longer offer any technical support on this product in the UK and this has significantly impacted on our ability to resolve customer queries relating to the software. Regrettably, we will be withdrawing the support service on our Internet Bank for Microsoft Money management software on 22 October 2009.

Remember you can still use our Internet banking service to view your statements, opt out of paper statements, pay bills and transfer your money instantly. You can also view and manage your credit card, mortgage and overdraft.

This is a very poor decision and for this family with over £300,000 invested in various accounts it marks the end of the line for Nationwide.

I have just told Nationwide more or less the same. What a load of wankers. Talk about head in the sand dinosaurs. The ONE MAIN reason for using NW was the MS Money facility. Despite lack of support, at least the could make their downloadable statements OFX!

I am seriously annoyed that Nationwide has withdrawn support for MS Money so completely. I am now in the process of moving all of my finances away from Nationwide. Natwest supports manual transaction downloads in OFX format which is nothing like as useful as what Nationwide used to offer, but far superior to what Nationwide now offer.

I have been utterly disgusted by this penny-pinching act from Nationwide. WHere is the customer service in this? Thankfully, there are a few utilities out there that can convert csv files to ofx eg MT2OFX and iCreateOFX at www.icreateofx.co.uk

I have also re-enrolled for recieving manual printed statements (which I shred as soon as I recieve them). That should be adequate payback for them!

I'm still with Nationwide but gradually moving away as I am very dissapointed with their withdrawing support and not offering OFX.

Which UK banks offer the best support for Money.

Hi Stefan

hard to say what the best one is, but I'd say any that offer OFX beat those that don't....

I have started using Capital One credit card instead of Nationwide and functionality with Money seems to work quite well.
